A purpose

I once felt like a failure just for simply existing

Wondering why I was so different

Why everyone I encountered looked at me strangely

Why I never fit in with the bros

Why I wasn’t smooth or loud enough to be noticed

Too dark for the light

Too light for the dark

But then there was you

And slowly gently you removed the mask I wore

That tired aching smile I forced every day
